Kansas Early Childhood Leaders Contribute to National Governance Study
Kansas is helping shape the national conversation on early childhood governance through the contributions of two leaders with ties to CPPR. Jackie Counts, chief operating officer of the Achievement and Assessment Institute, and Sara Gardner, assistant director at CPPR, contributed to a national case study on early childhood governance conducted by the Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center at Vanderbilt University.
Counts and Gardner were among 10 Kansas early childhood leaders interviewed for the study, providing insights that represent research and partnership perspectives within the state’s early childhood system.
The Kansas case study is part of a broader national landscape scan examining how states organize and administer early childhood programs and services. The report highlights governance strategies, challenges, best practices and lessons learned aimed at supporting more effective and coordinated early childhood systems.
