Tech-Enabled Community Resilience

CPPR Associate Director Teri Garstka presented at the 2023 Good Tech Fest with Meaghan Kennedy of Orange Sparkle Ball.

The presentation explored Tech-Enabled Community Resilience, a model for harnessing the power of networks in a community ecosystem to influence and change social and health outcomes. This model highlights how community co-design principles–such as cooperative governance, participatory budgeting and valuation, and community sensemaking–serve as core equity drivers for technology-enabled community data initiatives. Blending data science with the right technology tools and data infrastructure gives communities a platform to pilot rapid innovations, simulate conditions and forecasted outcomes, and build strategy sets to tackle entrenched social and public health problems.
