Improving the Child Care Ecosystem

As a Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Inclusive Ecosystems grantee, the Center for Public Partnerships and Research is working to learn more about the unique experiences of BIPOC child care providers. This project will help us better understand the landscape of child care and business supports in the Kansas City metro area.

We will information gathered through a survey and community engagement sessions to map these sources of support across the following areas:

Data

Growth

How to grow and leverage resources so child care providers can more easily begin the process of starting their own business and so child care business owners can meet the demand for their services from their community.

Awareness

How aware are providers of the impact of their individual contributions or positionality within the Kansas City metro business ecosystem or know the larger dynamics and patterns that affect their businesses and communities (i.e. how BIPOC providers intersect and influence the larger dynamics and patterns of their local economies).

Investment

How public and private sectors not traditionally associated with child care can invest in child care providers looking to join the broader entrepreneurial business ecosystem in the Kansas City metro.

If you identify as a BIPOC child care provider in Wyandotte, Johnson or Jackson counties in the Kansas City metro areas, we want to hear from you!

You can participate by completing the survey link below and/or attending a community engagement session.
